CANADIAN WELDING BUREAU

The purpose of the Welding Bureau is to administer Canada’s national welding standards, which are embedded in the national building code and other industry-specific documents. The Bleacherguys is a certified company under the CSA W47.1 FUSION WELDING OF STEEL COMPANY CERTIFICATION. It is important that quality is our top priority, by being CWB certified we can guarantee that our products exceed the Ontario building codes providing high quality and durable products.

The Ontario Building Code states:
Fabricators and erectors responsible for welding structures fabricated or erected under this standard shall be certified by the Canadian Welding Bureau to the requirements of CSA W47.1 (Division 1 or Division 2) CSA W55.3, or both, as applicable. Part of the work may be sublet to a Division 3 fabricator or erector; however, the Division 1 or Division 2 fabricator or erector shall retain responsibility for the sublet work.

THE ONTARIO BUILDING CODE

With every bleacher system that leaves our shop we ensure that every detail is up to code. Many aspects go into ensuring that our products meet your needs all while establishing that they are manufactured properly.

The Ontario Building Code is in place to ensure the safety of any personal using the built structure involved. In our case this means that our bleacher systems must comply with these terms, thus providing every customer with a safe and high quality product. “Why/when are guards needed on bleachers?”

Clauses that apply (3.3.2.8 sentences 2 through 4)

“What are the riser restrictions on bleacher systems?”

“How much of a load can bleachers hold?”

Bleachers seats shall be designed for a uniformly distributed live load of 1.75 kN for each linear metre or for a concentrated load of 2.2 kN distributed over a length of 750 mm, whichever produces the most critical effect on the supporting members.
